RACE TO THE TITLE: THE BATTLE TO BECOME CHAMPION

Ana Carrasco returned to the podium this past weekend after two thrilling races.

Indeed, the Murcian rider from the Evan Bros Racing Yamaha Team once again delivered the show we are accustomed to. On Saturday, starting from pole position, Ana set the pace of the race, staying in the lead throughout all the laps. Rain appeared with 5 laps to go, coinciding with Tayla Relph's crash, forcing the red flag to be raised and the race to be stopped. Since 2/3 of the competition had been completed, race direction decided to call it finished, awarding Ana first place, even though María Herrera had overtaken her before the interruption, as Ana had passed the first sector. This allowed the Murcian to secure a new and hard-fought first place on the podium.

On Sunday, under dry and sunny conditions, the story was similar: a constant exchange of positions at the front group, as all the riders maintained a very similar pace. In the last lap, with a minimal margin, Sara Sánchez managed to overtake Ana, relegating her to second place.

Despite this result, Carrasco continues to lead the championship with 208 points, 18 ahead of the second-placed rider. The next and final stop will be at the Jerez circuit this coming weekend. We are eagerly waiting to see how the first edition of the WorldWCR will conclude, though we hope to celebrate Ana Carrasco’s victory as the championship winner on Sunday.
