After months waiting for the return of the motorcycles, Marc Márquez suffered a hard fall that will force him to undergo emergency surgery.
245 days have passed since the end of the 2019 MotoGP World Championship and Marc Márquez proclaimed himself champion. The coronavirus crossed borders and with it, the postponements began, which would later become cancellations. Finally, the 2020 World Cup started this past weekend and it did in the worst way for the Repsol Honda Team and for Marc Márquez.
The Catalan rider suffered a tremendous fall that forced him to exit the circuit on a stretcher. Later, the humerus fracture was reported, which will be operated at the Dexeus Clinic in Barcelona this Monday, July 20. His brother, Álex Márquez, finished twelfth in his first race at the controls of the Honda.
As soon as the traffic light turned green, Marc Márquez went on fighter mode. In just a few meters he had passed the poleman, Quartararo, to start a fight for the first position with Viñales.
Both Catalan riders have played with the limit of their motorcycles until, in the second lap, Márquez went long in a curve. Luckily, the rider's quality and expertise allowed him to return to the track in last position. At that same moment one of the most spectacular comebacks of recent times started.
With five laps to go he had managed to pass Morbidelli and Dovizioso but if Marc is characterized by anything, it is his nonconformity. The Honda Racing Team rider continued to squeeze the bike with the intention of hunting Viñales, Quartararo was an impossible mission with a 5-second advantage. In that new fight he fell, in the same curve where he went long at the very beginning. A tremendous blow to the ground that has raised all the alarms.
Márquez left the circuit on a stretcher and, after going through the Jerez hospital, the doctors confirmed the fracture in the middle third of the humerus. The injury was scheduled for surgery on Monday, July 20, at the Barcelona clinic Dexeus, by Dr. Xavier Mir. The recovery time will depend on the state of the fracture and the team will be in charge of revealing it after the surgery.
Alex Márquez, who debuted in his first race in the premier class, finished twelfth sneaking into the points zone.

The guys from the Forward Racing Team have returned to the track at the controls of the MV Agusta. Stefano Manzi has stood up to the Kalex sneaking into eleventh position. Simone Corsi finished fifteenth.
