Good feeling in the Winter Test
These weeks took place the European Winter Test, where our Kawasaki Racing Team riders have been back on the track.
After visiting the circuit of Jerez where they made the first Test, the last tests finished last Tuesday the 30th in Portimao.
The adverse conditions that were found in Portugal did not stop the fast Jonathan Rea with the best overall time of 1'41.475, and Tom Sykes with a time of 1'41.952, his personal best.
The current champion assesses positively the tests they have been able to perform. Despite the strong wind that forced them to stop the activity on the track for a while, the result has been effective.
The rider Tom Sykes says that even without getting the best time lap, they got a set-up for Phillip Island, the first date of the world championship.
One of the objectives of the Winter Test team was to adapt to the new changes in the regulations that come into force this season, a new rule that limits all the engines of the Kawasaki riders to a maximum of 14,100 rpm. The balance of the tests they have done has been positive. In this way, the KRT team considers all the duties that were marked performed.
Our riders will arrive in Australia for the last pre-season test at Phillip Island, before the first race of the season, which will take place from 23 to 25 February.
Before, the official presentation of KRT will take place on February 8 in Barcelona.
